Laparoscopic enucleation of a neuroendocrine tumor on the posterior aspect of the pancreas: Case report and literature review

Introduction. Neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas are rare neoplasms. They divided into two groups: functional and non-functional. Non-functional represent a diagnostic challenge, given that they often remain asymptomatic diagnosed as an incidental finding. Case outline. We present patient in whom tumor was discovered at junction body tail pancreas, on dorsal side. The had no specific symptomatology, there loss weight. Considering procedures conducted condition patient, we decided to perform laparoscopic enucleation. procedure carried out safe efficient manner, so operative postoperative recovery uneventful. definitive histopathological examination confirmed finding non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Conclusion. Laparoscopic enucleation is effective treatment modality for with well-known advantages, compared open surgery, but always tendency improve already existing results thus contribute, not only treatment, greater comfort patient.
